Small Claims

A Small Claims Case is a legal action filed in county Court to settle minor legal disputes among parties where the dollar amount involved is greater than $0 but no greater than $8,000 excluding costs, interest and attorney fees.

Example for in person filing:

Small Claim: 1 defendant (2 sets of copies), 2 defendant (3 sets of copies)

Set of copies: Statement of Claim/Complaint and any supporting documents

County Civil

A County Civil Case is a legal action filed in county Court to settle legal disputes among parties where the dollar amount involved is greater than $8,000 but less than $50,000 excluding costs, interest and attorney fees.
